It’s the long weekend and what will you do? Will you go up to cottage country or stay close to home? If you’re staying close to home here are some things happening this weekend.
Sandcastle Festival – On Saturday, July 30, Cobourg is hosting a Sandcastle Festival. There will be competitions, master sandcastle builders, inflatables and a DJ. Take the family for a fun day at the beach. The Sandcastle Festival takes place on Cobourg Beach from 11am-4pm.
Caribana Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade – This is the 46th year that this parade has taken place. Head downtown to see the spectacular costumes, taste the exotic food and celebrate Toronto’s multiculturalism.
Food Truck Festival – Woodbine Park in Toronto is hosting a food truck festival this weekend. Come and sample a variety of cuisines all in one place; there is a truck for everyone’s tastes. If you don’t want to make the trek into Toronto, Pickering is hosting one next weekend, August 5-7, in the Esplanade.
Rogers Cup – This is an event that you can just as easily enjoy from home. Cheer on Canada’s Milos Raonic as he plays in the quarterfinals on Friday and hopefully you can continue to cheer for him throughout the weekend.
Music Festivals – There are many music festivals taking place in Toronto this weekend, including OVO Fest, Veld Music Festival and Irie Music Festival.
