    What’s Happening This Weekend – August 26-28

    Summer is coming to a close.  Next week is the final long weekend of the summer and then school starts up again.  BUT let’s enjoy the summer while we still have it.  There are lots of different things to do this weekend.  Here are just a few of the fun activities happening this weekend.

    Oshawa

    FireFit – All weekend firefighters are going to be battling each other to see who is the best.  They will compete in various skill competitions that reflect the tasks they they do on a regular basis.  This event is taking place at the Legends Centre.  For information and a schedule of events check out their Facebook Page.

    Bowmanville

    Bark in the Park – This event is for all the animal lovers out there.  With competitions, vendors and much more this is a great chance to get out with your four-legged best friend.  Click here for more information.

    Toronto

    As always, there is lots happening in Toronto.  Along with the CNE, here are a few other events taking place.

    Toronto Cider Festival – On Saturday, Yonge-Dundas Square will be hosting the Toronto Cider Festival.  There will be a bartending competition, cider cocktails, food and much more.  This is a 19+ event that promises to be a good time but please remember to drink responsibly and take advantage of public transit.

    Family Channel Big Ticket Summer Concert – For all of you with young kids who are glued to the Family Channel, this event is for you.  This concert is featuring various musical artists that appear on the channel as well as stars from some of their television shows.  If you do not yet have tickets to this event you can check out their site for more details.
