What’s Happening – Halloween Weekend

    Halloween is a fun time to dress up and hang out with other people, eating lots of free candy. If you’re looking for place to take your kids or to go yourself, here are just a few of the events happening this weekend.

    Toronto

    ScreamWhistle – This is a 19+ event taking place at Steam Whistle Brewery. This promises to be a fun night of dancing and partying. Remember to drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive.

    Night of Dread – For 17 years the Clay & Paper Theatre has put together this parade. Starting and ending at Dufferin Park Grove, this parade features musicians, puppeteers, dancers and much more! This promises to be a fun night for all, just remember to dress accordingly – black and white and dreadful.

    Gills & Ghouls – Ripley’s Aquarium is already a really awesome place to take your kids but they’ve made it even more awesome for Halloween!  Along with all the beautiful fish there will also be a mermaid, merman, pirate and more!  This event funs from 9am-4pm and promises to keep your children and even yourself in a constant state of awe.

    Boo at the Zoo – At this event, kids earn their prizes by answering questions about animals but don’t worry parents, there is more than just candy.  Children are able to earn colouring books, stickers and more! What makes this event really awesome is that if your child shows up in a costume they get in for free.   That’s right… FREE! (When accompanied by adult, who pays regular admission).  So, head on down to the zoo for a day of fun!

    Howling Hootenanny – Black Creek Pioneer Village is hosting this exciting event that includes decorating your own pumpkin, creepy creatures, a haunted maze and much, much more!  The main stage will also feature different performances throughout the day. Parents are invited to visit the Black Creek Historic Brewery for their own Halloween treat.

    Markham

    Scaryfest – Take your kids for a historic trick-or-treat adventure as they go around the Markham Museum grounds and meet a variety of characters.  So get dressed up, head on down and prepare to be spooked!

    Pickering

    Halloween Family Party – Dress up and head over to the Pickering Library for a costume parade, crafts, games and other Halloween-related activities.  This event starts at 2pm on Saturday, will be a fun afternoon for your kids.

    Oshawa

    Halloween Free Comic Book Day – Comic Book Addiction is hosting a day of face painting, pumpkin decorating, crafts and more!  There will be a costume contest, so dress up as your favourite superhero and head on down to get your free comic book!

    Clarington

    Family Halloween Games and Haunted Maze – Taking place the the A Gift of Art studio, this is an event that is also wanting to help the local community.  Admission is $2 plus a canned good for the local food bank.  There will be face painting, cotton candy, games and more!  The highlight of this event is the the Haunted Maze in the backyard of the studio, which promises to be a spooky time for all!
